has good facilities and accessibility. It is available for hire for regular bookings and one-off events.
DONATIONS
This hall is well used and the hire fees although reasonable provide a welcome income. We receive compliments on the condition of the hall which we hope will continue.
However, the hall is reaching an age at which parts get creaky or even fail and at which innovation can provide a better user experience.
If you would like to make a donation to the hall, either on a regular monthly basis or as a one-off gift or, if you want the next generation to have the use of the hall that you have enjoyed, you could leave a legacy.

Our current project is a safe wheelchair-accessible path from the fire exit on the righthand side of the hall as you enter, to the car park.
A future project is acoustic panels to reduce the echo in the hall making it easier to hear speech.
Carey Hut Charitable Trust is a registered charity, number 1000278.

The Hall is held in trust and managed by the Committee of the Charitable Trust which took over the running of the original hall in 1988 from the Parish. The Hall is used regularly for exercise classes, short mat bowls, U3A, Purbeck Association of the National Trust, Disabled and Visually Impaired groups and craft groups and one-off events such as children’s parties. It was a venue for 2020 and 2021’s Wareham Folk Harvest.
